How to play real money craps online

Once you’ve logged and funded your web casino account, click on the craps variant of your choice.

The pass bet is the basic wager in craps. The shooter wins if they roll a 7 or 11 and loses if they roll a 2, 3, or 12.

Any other number sets the point, which transforms the nature of the wager and the same shooter rolls the dice again. This time, they have to roll the point (the number they just rolled) a second time and avoid the 7. So if you roll six on the pass line bet, then you would need to roll a six again before you rolled a seven. This wager has a house edge of 1.41%.

The “don’t pass” bet is betting the opposite of the wager described above. Essentially, you’re betting against the shooter. In this case, the house edge is 1.36%. The don’t pass bet is therefore a better wagering option than the one above, but you’re betting against most of the people at the table.

Come and Don’t Come Bets

After the point is established, a player can wager on the outcome of this wager. If you were making the come bet, you would be wagering on the shooter winning. If you were making the “don’t come” bet, you would be wagering on the shooter losing. Again, the difference between this wager and the pass line bet is when you place your chips. If it’s done after the point is established, then it’s a come/don’t come bet.

Other craps bets

The other craps bets available include;

• Buy bets – bet on a number in the lowest part of the point box, winning if you roll it before rolling a 7.
• Lay bets – bet on a number in the upper section of the point box, winning if you roll it before rolling a seven.
• Hardway bets – only wins if you roll doubles totalling 4, 6, 8, or 10.
• Big 6 and Big 8 bets – You need to roll a 6 before rolling a 7 or an 8 before rolling a 7 to win.
• Any 7 bets – bet the next roll is a seven and lose if it is any other number.
• Any crap bets – bet the next roll is a 2, 3, or 12 but loses with any other number.

Many regular players say these bets aren’t worth the trouble due to their higher house edge than the wagers listed above, especially the last three which have a house edge of 9.09%, 16.67%., and 11% respectively.

Taking the Odds

Taking the Odds is a side bet which does not increase the house edge. In fact, taking the odds is the best wager you can make in craps, because it has a house edge of 0%. It’s a true even-money wager. The only reason it’s not given more attention is you can’t make it without making another wager. Thus, it’s more like increasing the odds on your original wager than it is a new bet.

This wager is made after the pass line bet. Make this wager by placing your chips outside the pass line betting area. It pays 2:1 on either a 4 or 10, 3:2 on either a 5 or 9, and 6:5 on either a 6 or 8. Laying the odds is the opposite of the taking the odds. In this case, you’re wagering against the point. Once again, it’s got a 0% house edge.
